It's a sad night for Filipino MMA fans after the lights turned off at ONE: Eternal Glory. Not only did two Pinoy MMA fighters lost to their respective opponents, but one MMA title was also captured.
New ONE Strawweight Champion
After a grueling five-round main event, the hands of Japan’s Yosuke “Tobizaru” Saruta was raised signifying his victory against defending ONE Strawweight World Champion Joshua “The Passion” Pacio via split decision.
The 31-year-old challenger relentlessly pressured the champion, tried several takedown attempts, most of which Pacio was able to escape. Nevertheless, it was good enough in the eyes of two of the three judges who decided the bout.
For his part, Pacio threw a number of roundhouse kicks and back fists as well as two-punch combinations. Unfortunately, most of them never connected.
